Built for the Scenic Route

Because mental health isn’t a final stop, it’s the landscape we live in every day.

In celebration of Mental Health Awareness this May, we'll be connecting with young people, families, and community leaders in Michigan to talk about mental health and celebrate our unique journeys.

The Ground We've Covered

Proof that the journey is worth it

Before we look ahead to the road, let’s glance back at the ground we’ve already covered. The latest research tells a story of a generation looking for new ways to feel supported.

In 2025, Soluna significantly increased access to behavioral health supports in critical areas across the state. The latest feedback from the young people we serve show 95% of users would recommend Soluna to a friend.*

Additionally:

  • 94% of coaching and therapy users meet at least one need during a single session*
  • 1 in 4 Soluna users do not receive any other mental health services outside of Soluna*
  • 70% of coaching and therapy chats are requested outside of school hours*
We’re not just providing an app, we’re building a space where no one has to walk their path alone.

Support that stays with you

A 2026 independent study by Northwestern University found that young people using Soluna experienced meaningful drops in stress, loneliness, and hopelessness. These weren't just quick fixes; the improvements were still there three months later.

Whether it’s getting through the final days of freshman year or finding a way to quiet the noise of a busy city, Soluna provides the tools to help teens and young adults stay grounded.

The States We Navigate

Mapping the world around us and the feelings within us

Everyone’s map is different, so think of these cities and boundaries as a guide, not a rule. Use the landscapes that feel real to you, and remember: No matter where you land, Soluna’s here for the long haul.

  • The Outer State: Vast lands that feel endless: a place built on hard work and staying power.
  • The Inner State: Resilience. Building the strength to keep going; it isn’t about perfection, it’s about steady steps, through every season.
  • The Reality: Resilience is tested when support is hard to reach. In Michigan, the ratio for school psychologists to students in K-12 public schools is 1 to 1,443, significantly lower than the recommended ratio of 1 to 500. (NAMI State-Specific Mental Health Fact Sheets, Michigan, 2025.)
  • The In-App Activity: Let It Out. A safe place to say exactly how you feel.
  • The Outer State: Rugged mountains and high altitudes: a place where you have to rely on your own skills to move forward.
  • The Inner State: Self-Trust. Relying on your own internal compass when the echoes of others fade away.
  • The Reality: Isolation isn't just physical. Beyond the lack of mental health resources, people living in rural areas face unique lifestyle barriers that play a role in determining whether they get the support they need, including higher rates of mental health stigma. (National Rural Health Association Policy Brief on Mental Health in Rural Areas, 2022.) When you’re physically or socially isolated, your internal values become the most reliable signal you have.
  • The Tool: Values. Identifying what matters most to you.
  • The Outer State: A landscape of constant motion: fast, crowded, and loud.
  • The Inner State: Presence. Finding a private space within a public one.
  • The Reality: In dense areas like Detroit, external stressors are often environmental. Research shows that ‘city noise’ can increase the susceptibility to mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, suicide, and behavioral problems in children and adolescents. (J Expo Sci Environ Epidemiol 35, 16–23 (2025)
  • The In-App Activity: Noise Cleanse. A simple way to lower the volume of the world.
  • The Outer State: The misty coastline where the land meets the ocean, a place of beginnings and endings.
  • The Inner State: Reflection. Building the habit of looking back at how far you’ve come.
  • The Reality: Navigating the fog of the future is a collective experience; 94% of Gen Z report monthly mental health challenges (Newport Healthcare, 2026). Reflection helps you see the small wins that usually go unnoticed.
  • The In-App Activity: Mood Log. A simple way to see how your feelings change over.

Voices from the road

The world looks different depending on where you stand. We asked young people across our communities to share how they navigate their own inner and outer states. No perfect answers — just honest reflections on the noise, the quiet, and the effort it takes to move through both.

Guided by Your Voice

We work with ambassadors to make sure Soluna stays focused on the support that communities actually need. Whether it’s young people giving us feedback on new features, or educators and families starting honest conversations in their own neighborhoods, these groups help decide where Soluna goes next.
